After our delicious lunch, we are headed back to Amman. Next up, the Citadel. The Citadel overlooks the entire city of Amman and one can easily see the benefits of building it exactly where it is. Stunning views and panoramas abound. We took our time as we walk around the ancient grounds.
Next we head down to the Roman Theatre. I was able to get a few shots of it from the Citidel. The Roman theatre is also one of the architectural marvels in Jordan’s capital city. It dates all the way back to the Roman period when the city was known as Philadelphia.
(For you history buffs, this is where Philadelphia PA got it’s name.)
After the theater, we decided it was time to get checked in at our Hotel. For our first night in Jordan we chose the Fairmont Amman. There were many reasons for this choice beyond its opulence, and if you message me I will be happy to explain. All I can say for now is that both my wife and I are very happy about this decision!
Tomorrow – Mount Nebo and Petra
Ciao for now
